A Charmant staple, these practical aprons are fashioned from vintage French linen sheets. I dye them (always different, always an experiment), and then work as many aprons out as possible - usually two, sometimes three from one sheet. This was done long ago also; upcycling is nothing new. My secret pleasure is finding the reweavings, the darning, the mending in these fabrics. On some, you'll find a fancy monogram, or maybe a cross-stitched monogram. Wear this, until it's worn out, then cut it up to make something else.

The first time you launder your apron, wash it alone, to let any residual dye flush out.
