SOLD. Postcard-sized canivet, a religious card. The "lace is actually paper perforated by a tiny, needlelike tool, called a canivet. The artform originated in monasteries and convents in the thirteenth century and continued until recently. The date of this is unkown, perhaps late 19th, early 20th century.
